CROWS x WORST

I'm not sure how many people in these forums read these types of mangas.. but highschool gang fighting is still quite interesting for me lol. I've been reading these for awhile... This is actually the sequel to the first series "Crows"... Now CROWS was a popular manga back in its day... i think it still is because they managed to make 2 movies called "Crows ZERO"by Takashi Miike... very cool movies if you are down with this genre. If you haven't picked up WORST you might want to read CROWS first but its not finished being scanlated yet... the group PAD is doing this and it seems to be the only active group thus far..
So basically the story is pretty straight forward for WORST.. the main protagonist Tsukishima Hana wants to become the very first leader of his high school SUZURAN; the most baddest high school in area! Meets friends and foes and his journey to getting to the top... Deals with biker gangs... and lots of gang fights.. and of course... one on one fights! Personally.. the story isn't very captivating... its straight forward... but sometimes there is too many gangs to remember lol.. but im a fan of the genre so i let it pass.. The artist/author Hiroshi Takahashi has evolved and created great artwork for this manga.. I love the style how he draws (though sometimes you think... are these guys in highschool? They look like friggin 30 year olds lol)

Suprisingly, WORST has a more realistic feel than other delinquent manga. They're not always fighting, and there's kind of a political feel to it sometimes. It's a good series that's definitely worth picking up.

ya I get what you're saying... its true it seems more realistic in a sense that they have alot of background on the gangs... everyone deals with some sorta life problem... deaths... rise and fall of certain groups.... in the beginning though... the suzuran school looked like a normal high school... now that the two movies by Takasho Miike came out... they kinda changed the environment and added the two main chars from the movies into the background history of suzuran.. which is cool... but the way they portray the school now looks more grimey..
also another series to pick up is shounan ju'nai gumi... pretty much its Great Teacher Onizuka in his high school days with Danma.. its a great manga but Tokyopop stopped production of the english version... so gay... it gets so much better halfway thru the series.. Shounan Ju'nai Gumi... pick it up!

That was not a conclusion for me....Hana shoulda won that fight. There's no way he can legitimately be the boss of Suzuran while being second best. How disappointing.

Speaking of Crows...is anyone gonna pick that one up again or what? I like Crows better than Worst and I'm still waiting to see it finished.
