This is an old topic now but why coulndt Ippo win against Alves? 5 rankning places is just numbers. Volg is about to become world champion. Alves might be à weak nr 2 rank.

This is an example of my writing is so poor that people can't understand what I am saying.
I was trying to be sarcastic. The manga is hinting that Ippo has very little chance to win. But I'm saying that there is a virtually 100% chance that Ippo WILL win. The manga will build up the drama in every way possible to show how tough it will be for Ippo, but after 981+ chapters, it's virtually a lock that Ippo will win. Of course, anything is possible.

Yeah it wont be a surprising fight because 980+ chapters we have been waiting for Ippo getting to World Stage. Morikawa has made hard for himself with a lock that Ippo must win or the story,the drama will go backwards. I just hope its a good,exciting somewhat like real boxning fight like early Ippo fights.
HNI has been my fav manga for many years since i first read it in 2000 and went to old Ippo forums before this one. The manga has been fun,good boxning fights recently and i hope it keeps up.
